China Panda Coins.The Chinese Panda series of coins have been hugely successful with collectors mainly because of the attractive Giant Panda featured on them.
These are in fact Bullion coins featuring the Giant Panda and they are available in silver or Gold
There were a number of varieties including uncirculated,proof coins,gold plated,gilded,coloured and ones marked
for the domestic market in China or as commemoratives.
COUNTERFEITS do exist and this how to tell real ones.
These were around in 2006 and appeared to be 1 ounce silver pandas.

They were sold either as Proof or BU versions but real Pandas were marked with their denomination and the fakes were not..
Having said that,some fakes did have a denomination and the only way to tell the difference is to weigh them.
The fake versions are marked with 1 oz AG 999 although they have lttle or no silver content.
The Real ones from 1983 to 1987 should weigh 27 gm (there are none for 1986)
